Sequential Underground #40

The podcast by indie comics creators for indie comics creators!

Sequential Underground
Listen to Sequential Underground #40 right now:

Shawn Atkins and Nick Marino speak with Pierce Johnson, Pittsburgh cartoonist and an organizer of the Cartooning All Night component of the larger Art All Night event held in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood this Sat-Sun April 28-29.

Pierce explains what you can expect to see at Cartooning All Night, and we run down the list of awesome Pittsburgh cartoonists that’ll be participating. We also discuss improvisation as it relates to comics creation, and share some of our own comics improv experiences.

And if you’re still interested in getting involved with this year’s Cartooning All Night activity, email nick@audioshocker.com or leave a comment here on the blog post. The more cartoonists the better!

You can read more of Pierce’s work at Left of Sanity.

After the end theme, we chat up some other topics. Pierce wonders why very few indie comic books have synopses on the back. And he’s also searching for an online source that keeps track of the latest comics releases by Pittsburgh cartoonists. Does that exist? We don’t think so.

UPDATE: Check out the results of 2012′s Cartooning All Night.
